To me, symbols speak as scripture useful if regularly pondered upon and personalized by the layers of meaning we draw from them, yet useless and empty if we neglect to engage with their significance. As a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, I have wondered at the taboo surrounding the cross as a symbol of
