German artist Matthias Schiessl had this effect on us. This charming scene of the Magi kneeling down before the baby Jesus was the first of his to catch our eye. It appeared in the October 1913 issue of Der Christliche Kunst, a German magazine of Catholic art. After that the image was used on holy
