Harold von Schmidt Draws and Paints the Old West Sculpture "PPAPER" won the "Design forA very sharp copy of the only major monograph on this Saturday Evening Post illustrator and Western painter. Written by illustration expert and founder of Illustration House, Walt Reed. Harold von Schmidt (1893 1982) studied at the Grand Central School of Art in New York City. His work appeared primarily in Collier's Weekly, Cosmopolitan, Liberty, The Saturday Evening Post, and Sunset. He preferred magazine work and illustrated few books. In 1948, he
